The motivation has been to deliver some of the nanomaterial concepts to the classroom, in an effort to motivate students into the interesting and important world of science and nanoscience. Methods to assess the effectiveness of the lesson plans and laboratory sessions are discussed. Concepts of different length scales are introduced, and the effects of nanosize and high surface area that give rise to unique properties of nanomaterials are discussed.
In addition, activities for advanced Bernalillo high school students will be modeled after the laboratory exercises described in the Appendices
DSC measurements indicated that the nanotube with proper functionalization agent can increase the glass transition temperature of the polycarbonate. SEM revealed that an SDS based dispersing agent was effective in breaking up MWNT agglomerates however, it is important that the residue be washed away.

While the scientists were looking for something else, they noticed something they had never seen before. picture you holding soccer ball on the earth. What does that mean exactly? Well, the word versatile means changeable for many uses, and the word nano means dwarf. Because nanoscience is so new and nanotechnology is becoming important to the future, people are studing these small parts of matter, called nanoparticles to find out what they look like and what they can be useful for. Scientists believe that some nanomaterials, are capable of being hundreds of times stronger than steel.
