Nanotechnology, shortened to "Nanotech", can be applied to every known field not just electronics. For example NASA has designed a plane that can fly exactly like a bird using nanotechnology. There are several other applications of nanotech that are already out and about like: The SD-flash memory, the life straw, Aerogel, self-cleaning paint, ColorMatic monitoring of buildings, etc. The two main equipments involved in developing nanotech are; STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscope) and AFM (Atomic Force Microscope). The Nile University intends on starting a nanotechnology program in 2010.
